Saturday April 12, 2008 - Run



Yes, today's Crossfit WOD of the is RUN 10K and I know all of you are saying, but Jim - you told us that HIIT is the key and we shouldn't do constant-rate moderate intensity cardio!?

Intervals are definitely critical for FAT-LOSS, but variety is what keeps your body challenged. That is one of the reasons you will see the 10K WOD show up from time to time! It is also why great athletes mix in some endurance events from time to time!

So go out there (preferably OUTSIDE) and get a run in today! (but get back to your intervals on Monday!)

Also pictured are some of the Wise Redeye Fighter Pilots after their workout in our Squadron Heritage Room. The great thing about the Heritage Room (read bar) is that much is learned in the relaxed atmosphere outside of the briefing room!

Hi Jim, instead of doing the 10k, the Pioneer Valley Cross Fit gym decided to do the "Bear Complex" WOD.

WOD is broken down like this:
"Bear Complex"
deadlift
power clean
front squat
push press
back squat
behind the neck push press

THEN - bear crawl (about 10 feet)

THEN - reverse bear crawl (about 10 feet)

Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes. Recommended weight is 95lbs.

I completed 21.5 rounds with 45lbs.
