Wednesday March 12, 2008 - 9th grade football


I joined my son Mitchell Tuesday in a great spring weight training session for his 9th grade football team. I was very encouraged to see that incorporated a great deal of crossfit style circuit training in addition to traditional weights!

I led them through some of the P90X Ab circuit at the end of the workout -- which they moaned about quite a bit!

15 ft Rope Climb, 12 ascents
115 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 ft Rope Climb, 9 ascents
115 pound Thruster, 9 reps
15 ft Rope Climb, 6 ascents

Post time to comments. ( we did pullups x2 to substitute for the rope ascents!)

Bagged a couple of F16 sorties today with my buddy Fig - great day for flying in Colorado!

Completed the WOD in 15:52 using 50lbs for thrusters and doing 36/24/18 pullups in place of the rope climb. Definitely felt the pain in my forearms!

BTW...you will NOT believe who is visiting our gym in May....Kelly Moore!!!!! She is one tough cookie!
