Major General Joseph Lengyel

Walking through the terminal in Atlanta the other day I heard a very familiar, "James T. Reeman" hollered at me across the concourse. I had the privilege to visit for a few minutes with Joe "Lingus" Lengyel. In 1995, then Captain Lengyel was one of my first instructors in the F16 in the Texas Guard. Lingus became a mentor and friend and taught me much about what little I know about being a fighter pilot.

Lingus is a fellow Delta pilot but was furloughed in the mid nineties and used the opportunity to further his Air Force career. He recently pinned on his second star and has become a top leader in our nation's military. I couldn't be more proud of his accomplishments or more grateful for his friendship and leadership.

Major General Joseph Lengyel BIO.

Pictured receiving his second star from his father and General McKinley. Also pictured with his son - who happens to be attending pilot training at Sheppard AFB, where I attended pilot training and got to know Joe's father, LtCol (ret) Lauren R. Lengyel, who was working their as a contractor. Lauren Lengyel flewF4's in Viet Nam and was a POW.
