Why mornings work!


Back in the fitness days of Body for Life, Bill Phillips advocated some HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for fat loss? Why? Simply because you have just fasted for 8-10 hours (maybe longer if you don't eat before bed) and your body will be forced to burn fat for energy. While this may not be the best strategy for a high energy workout and achieving your Crossfit personal records, it is solid advice for fat loss. Those focusing on fat loss may even elect for a short bout of high intensity interval cardio first thing in the morning (even a jump rope on the road!) followed by their traditional workout later in the day.

Putting this morning technique to work for you may simply involve hitting the sack 20 minutes earlier and then getting up and getting after it! Happy Weekend!
