In any aviation training program the first portion is always dedicated to learning the "SYSTEMS" of the airplane and then proving your knowledge of said systems in a ground evaluation (read test.) This is arguably pilot's least favorite part of training because you aren't flying and no one enjoys getting grilled on their systems knowledge. One of my best friends is Lufthansa pilot, Lars Krieglmeier. Lars and I met in Euro Nato Jet Training in 1994 and he was notorious for his disdain for academics and systems tests. His mastery of the English language is better today, but Lars is one of the better pilots I know - - and still hates ground training.
Having successfully completed my ground evaluation for the Boeing 757/767 on Monday, I return to Atlanta today to start the flight training portion of school (read simulator.) The good news is that Bob and I are in A periods which means we brief at 0500 ATL time (0300 DEN time.) I guess its a jump start on getting my body clock ready for international travel!
Pictured are Lars Krieglmeier, Manuela, and Sabrina at their home in Germany and my kids on a recent hike with Stephanie in Elk Meadow right across from our house.

Hi Jim,
Today is a REST DAY for CF HQ's, but since I didn't do Monday's WOD, my instructors decided to try something new. Since I was the first to do the WOD, they named it after me. I completed it in 16:04, but there is definitely room for improvement. If you are interested in the WOD, here it is:
"Sandra"
For time:
5 medicine ball cleans (10lbs for females, 35lbs for males)
5 lunging waiter's walks (walking lunge with med ball held overhead)
10 medicine ball cleans
10 lunging waiter's walks
15 medicine ball cleans
15 lunging waiter's walks
20 medicine ball cleans
20 lunging waiter's walks
25 medicine ball cleans
25 lunging waiter's walks
Post Work-Out:
2 minute Handstand Hold
2 minute Squat Hold
2 minute handstand AFTER the workout?!?! Awesome Sandra!
That is correct - right after the WOD. It wasn't that bad! The real pain started kicking in as I was "trying" to walk down 2 flights of stairs to get to my car. Thanks for all of your encouragement!!!
