I was proud of my Nuggets last night. In spite of going down to Kevin Durant and the Thunder, they played together and shared the ball. Carmelo Anthony's departure earlier this season yielded a team of unselfish players that are fun to watch.
I have watched ego hamper many superstars, pilots, and people alike. My ego has been a severe limitation to me at times in my life. It is inspiring to see athletes, leaders, soldiers, and anyone who humbles themselves in the interest of bettering the team.
One of my favorite quotes was from a real hero: Dick Winters. Richard (Dick) Winters, was the Army commander whose heroism during World War II was immortalized in the book and television miniseries "Band of Brothers, Richard D. Winters: [real life interview with Winters where he quotes Mike Ranney on how Ranney answered a question his grandson once asked him] I treasure my remark to my grandson who asked, "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" Grandpa said, "No... but I served in a company of heroes".
