This summer while in Balad I completed my first semester of my Master's in Human Performance Coaching. One of the things I studies was motivation. Extrinsic motivation generally represents tangible goals and milestones while intrinsic motivation is more closely tied to one's core values.
It has been a little tough to adjust my sleep cycle back to normal, but somehow I managed to get up early before the elk and birds at Red Moon Road this morning. Its easier to get motivated for a 1030 of 1500 Crossfit class that I am teaching to a large group, but took major effort to complete a solo WOD in my garage gym early this morning.
I encourage each of you to devote time to your intrinsic motivation. Your core values will steer you on your desired path more consistently than your tangible goals.
