Fun opportunity to fly with Mike "Troll" Hoepfner today. You can tell from many of the Blog Pics that Troll and I made a connection in the gym doing Crossfit (with a high level of intensity.) Troll's credibility as a fighter pilot is beyond reproach as a former F16 Weapons School Instructor and an initial cadre F22 Raptor pilot. At Balad he serves as the Operations Support Group Commander and flys missions with us. What has impressed me about Troll is his respect and genuine sincerity with people. His mentoring from another one of my role models - Major General Burt Field - is evident. Troll is also a man of Faith, dedicated husband and father of four. Its amazing the people you meet at war?
Of course following our mission today, Troll and I enjoyed the 1500 Crossfit Class with the gang.
