Lon Wardrop is one of the most successful people I have been privileged to learn from. I admittedly stole Lon's line. When asked how he is doing, Lon always answers, "I am having the singularly greatest day of my entire life!" Regardless of the weather, the circumstances, or challenges, Lon's answer and his attitude are always the same.
We work hard in Balad. Most of the pictures show us sweating in the gym, smiling at the pool, or even taking in a movie. Rest assured that most of us work 10-12 hours a day in the 110+ heat in mostly austere conditions. Last time we were here, we missed Christmas and this time we miss the heart of the summer in Colorado.
Those of you that know me, know that I am not looking for sympathy, but illustrating one of my favorite Wisdom of the Warrior Principles! You can't control your environment, but you can always control your attitude! The warriors serving here in Iraq continue to impress me with positive attitudes inspite of the conditions!
